Gr8 Science - 04 group: Classwork

- A final call was put out for the "Counting Atoms" assignment.

- Assignments that had been handed in last class were handed back and gone over as a final bit of help before . . . 

- . . . Students wrote their quizzes on Atoms, Molecules and Elements.

- Students were shown videos( see blog )on The periodic Table and the elements in it. 

- Students then began constructing the Periodic Table by choosing random numbers between 1 and 118, then drawing the periodic table "tiles" to put up on the bulletin board Periodic Table in the classroom.

Gr7 Science - 03 group: Classwork & Homework( QUIZ! )

- Students reviewed Water Cycle vocabulary through the lyrics of an( annoying! )song.

- Students then finished the notes on The Water Cycle.

- Students were asked to work on questions #2  &  #3 on pages 174 - 175 in their Workbook( This does NOT have to be completed for next class. )

- Students will write a quiz on The Characteristics of Living Things next class:  Monday, 15th Oct. , 2nd period.

Gr7 Science - 04 group: Classwork and Homework( QUIZ! )

- Students reveiwed their vocab on the Water Cycle by going over song lyrics( song is on blog ).

- Students then finished notes on The Water Cycle.

- Students were assigned question 2 & 3 on pages 174 & 175.

- Students are to study for a quiz on The Chacteristics of Living Things for next class:  Monday, 15th Sept. , first period.

Gr8 Science - 03 group - Classwork and Homework( QUIZ! )

- Students were given some time to compare notes/work on their "Counting Atoms" Assignment.  If done at the end of this period, it can be handed in.  If not, then it is due next class( Monday, 15 Sept. , last period ).

- Students will write a quiz on Atoms, Molecules and Elements that same day.

- Students took notes on The Periodic Table.

- Seatwork was given( pages 22 - 23, questions 1 ,   4a) ,  5  &  6.

- Homework is to study for the Quiz on Monday, last period.  Any "Counting Atoms" Assignments should be handed in at this time, too.

Gr Science - 04 Group: Classwork and Homework(QUIZ!)

- Students were given work time to check their "Counting Atoms" Assignment with classmates.

- If completed, the Assignments were handed in.  Any students who did not complete the assignment will hand it in on Friday( 11 Sept. )

- Students will write a quiz on Atoms, Molecules and Elements on Friday, 12th Sept. , first period.

- We then started notes on The Periodic Table.

Gr8 Science - 03 group: classwork and homework!

- Students were given answers to questions on pages 14 - 15 in their workbook on Molecules.

- Students were reminded of the definition of "Elements" and assigned seatwork in their workbooks;  this was corrected after a brief work period.

- An Assignment( Counting Molecules )was handed out and examples on how to answer it were given.  Students then began working on it individually.

- The Assignment is due next class*, but will be accepted as late as mid-week next week( Wed., 17th Sept. )

* Just noticed the next class is tomorrow!  We will check for understanding and allow another short work period.  If the assignment is done it can be handed in.  If it is not finished, it will be kept until it is.  We'll then start a new topic.

Gr7 Science - 03 AND 04 groups: class and homework!

- students checked homework on pages 115 - 116.

- students then were introduced to the Water Cycle via a video clip and discussion.

- students took notes on the Water Cycle.

- students are to study their new vocab in their binder glossary( "Cycle" through to "Transpiration" ).
