- we started Dichotomous Keys. We did a practice key together, then a worksheet( see below, or TEAMS )was given for seatwork in class for the remaining time and homework if not completed.

- Students are reminded of their Types of Chemical Changes Assignment handed out approx. two classes ago. There is still some confusion over this assignment. We will revisit it after the long wknd, but it will be completed on students own time.

- We then started notes on our next topic, Adaptations. We had introduced this topic with a card-matching Activity the class before.
- Students were given back their latest requizzes on Elements and quiz on The Periodic Table.
- Next class they will write a quiz on Chemical and Physical Changes.
- Students then finished their notes on Conservation of Matter.
- Students were assigned questions 1 , 2 b , c , 3 , 4 , 6 & 7 on Workbook pages 46 - 47.
- Students were given their Water Cycle quizzes back. This was corrected and students were advised they will see this topic again.
- Our next topic was introduced by highlighting it in students Binder Glossary and then explored through a matching activity: Students had to match an Adaptation to the organism that displayed the adaptation.
- For example: one Adaptation was: "Fur turns white during winter months". This was matched to an Arctic Fox.
- After successfully matching all the adaptations to the organism, students then had to explain how the Adaptation helped the organism survive.
- Note-taking and seatwork to reinforce the matching activity will continue next class.
