Gr7 Sci - 03 & 04 Classwork

- Students were given their Water Cycle quizzes back.  This was corrected and students were advised they will see this topic again.

- Our next topic was introduced by highlighting it in students Binder Glossary and then explored through a matching activity:  Students had to match an Adaptation to the organism that displayed the adaptation.

- For example: one Adaptation was:  "Fur turns white during winter months".  This was matched to an Arctic Fox.

- After successfully matching all the adaptations to the organism, students then had to explain how the Adaptation helped the organism survive.

- Note-taking and seatwork to reinforce the matching activity will continue next class.

Gr8 Sci - 03 group: Classwork and Assignment.

- Students wrote a quiz on The Periodic Table.

- We then checked Workbook questions on The Conservation of Matter on pages 46 - 47, questions 1 ,  2 ,  3 ,  6  &  7.

- A video from the blog( mrleblancphs8sci.blogspot.com ) titled "Conservation of Matter" was shown how the number of atoms going into a chemical change must equal the number of atoms leaving a chemical change. This keeps the mass of the substances involved in the change the same before and after the change.

- Students were then given an Assignment.  The first side was explained.  Work time on this assignment AND an explanation of the back side will happen on Monday.
